☆Major Philippine golf news from Saturday, September 20, 2025:
1. ICTSI Bacolod Junior PGT Championship
John Rey Oro and Tashanah Balangauan won the premier 15-18 division titles at the ICTSI Bacolod Junior PGT Championship held at Bacolod Golf and Country Club.
Oro carded a two-over 72 to win the boys' division, while Balangauan fired a 70 for a 13-stroke victory in the girls' division.
The tournament was the seventh and final leg of the Junior Philippine Golf Tour's Visayas-Mindanao series.
2. Local Golf Tournament
Singer and songwriter Ogie Alcasid led the ceremonial tee-off for the 3rd OA Global Dominion Cup, a local tournament that drew over 130 participants.
The event, which was also a fundraiser for the EPCALM Foundation to help leukemia patients, featured a variety of prizes, including a new car and a golf cart.
3. Filipino Players in International Events
Filipino professionals faced challenges in international tournaments.
Miguel Tabuena slipped to a share of 15th place at the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship in Chinese Taipei after a tough third round.
Bianca Pagdanganan struggled with her putting and dropped to a tie for 86th place at the NW Arkansas Championship in the United States.
◇Major men's golf events in the U.S. on Saturday, September 20, 2025:
PGA Tour The PGA Tour did not have a regular tournament scheduled for this weekend. The next major event will be the Ryder Cup, which begins on September 26.
NCAA Men's College Golf Several college golf tournaments were held across the country.
William H. Tucker Invitational (Albuquerque, NM): Long Beach State won the team title with a score of 23-under par. New Mexico's Emil Albers won the individual title with a final score of 13-under par, a UNM freshman record.
Fighting Illini Invitational (Olympia Fields, IL): The University of Florida holds a seven-shot lead over Texas Tech heading into the final round. Florida's Matthew Kress and Oklahoma State's Gaven Lane are tied for the individual lead at 5-under par.
Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational (Muncie, IN): Luke Johnston of Ball State University leads the individual field at 11-under par after two rounds. Ball State holds an 11-stroke lead in the team competition.
Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational (Colorado Springs, CO): San José State's Ivan Barahona shot a 2-under 70 to lead the Spartans, who are tied for seventh place as a team after the first round.

LPGA Tour
Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G (Rogers, AR): The second round of this tournament was underway. Sarah Schmelzel and Minami Katsu were tied for the lead at 8-under par. Other players in contention included Leona Maguire, Somi Lee, and Lilia Vu.
College Golf
Mason Rudolph Championship (Franklin, TN): This tournament was hosted by Vanderbilt University. The second round was completed on Saturday, with the final round scheduled for Sunday.
Lady Paladin Invitational (Greenville, SC): Hosted by Furman University, the second round was completed. The University of Alabama held the team lead, and Jordan Fischer of Florida Gulf Coast had the individual lead.
Nittany Lion Invitational (State College, PA): The first two rounds of this tournament, hosted by Penn State, were scheduled for Sunday, September 21, with the final round on Monday.
